Arsenal face Gilberto absence

Arsenal FC will be missing Brazilian international midfield player Gilberto for "at least one month" as he recovers from a back injury.

Length of absence
Gilberto did not travel with the Arsenal squad to Norway for tomorrow's UEFA Champions League match against Rosenborg BK and manager Arsène Wenger said: "We don't know how long for but it will be at least one month without any physical effort."

'Strange injury'
If Gilberto's absence is for a month, he will also miss the visit to Panathinaikos FC on 20 October. Wenger added: "It is a strange injury and an injury which usually concerns young players. I don't know if it is a recurrence of an injury he had when he was young. It could be a small fracture in one of his vertebrae."
