Maccabi Tel-Aviv FC coach Nir Klinger has handed the Israeli Premier League club a significant boost ahead of their decisive UEFA Champions League Group C encounter with Juventus FC by signing a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2008.
Four more years
Maccabi vice-president Eli Driks announced on Monday night that Klinger, who took over at Maccabi in summer 2002, has agreed a new deal that will keep him in charge until 2008. Klinger, 39, won the league title in his first season with the club and they finished second the following year.
'Faith and value'
"Maccabi is part of my life as I have been at this club since 1990," Klinger said. "I breath, sleep and eat Maccabi and am delighted that owner Loni Herzikovic and Driks show faith in me and value my work." Maccabi currently lie in third place in Champions League Group C, and will guarantee themselves entry into the UEFA Cup with victory against section winners Juventus on Wednesday night.
