Henriksen to see out season

Panathinaikos FC defender René Henriksen has extended his contract by six months until the end of the season.

Panathinaikos FC defender René Henriksen has extended his contract by six months, meaning he will stay with the Greek champions until the end of the season.

Danish international
The 35-year-old Dane, who stood down from international football after winning his 66th cap at UEFA EURO 2004™, joined the Greens in the summer of 1999 and originally extended his contract in December 2001 by three years. He has played twice in the UEFA Champions League this year, taking his tally of European games for Panathinaikos to 51.

UEFA Cup
Henriksen will hope to add to that figure when the Athenians participate in the UEFA Cup in 2005. Panathinaikos finished third in Champions League Group E, a point behind Arsenal FC and PSV Eindhoven.
