Valencia CF midfield player Mohamed Sissoko is out for two months after suffering a knee injury.

Valencia CF midfield player Mohamed Sissoko is out for two months after suffering a knee injury in training.

Training session injury
Malian international Sissiko broke down during training on Friday morning, and he underwent keyhole surgery that evening. Doctoras diagnosed a ripped meniscus although nearby ligaments and blood vessels were not affected. The 19-year-old only signed a three-year contract extension with the club this week.

UEFA Cup campaign
He has until the third week of February to recover in time for the Spanish champions' opening UEFA Cup match in the round of 32. Valencia entered next Friday's draw in the competition they won last season after a 2-0 home defeat by Werder Bremen on Tuesday left them third in UEFA Champions League Group G.
