Nedved scan allays Juve fears

Juventus FC hope to have Pavel Nedved back for their meeting with Real Madrid CF despite a knee injury.

Initial fears
The 32-year-old was carried off in considerable pain midway through the second half of Sunday's game against Brescia Calcio following an accidental collision with Brescia defender Maurizio Domizzi. "We are very worried for Nedved," admitted coach Fabio Capello after the match, which Juventus won 2-0 to stretch their lead at the top of Serie A to five points.

Concerns eased
Nedved, however, underwent a scan which ruled out the possibility of knee ligament damage. According to the Turin club's medical staff, the player will return to action in two to three weeks, meaning he is likely to be available for the first leg against Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu on 22 February. The return is scheduled for 9 March.
