Mile ends Ukraine victory hopes

Albania 1-1 Ukraine Vangjel Mile equalises five minutes from time to give Albania a share of the spoils.

Substitute scores
The visitors dominated the first half and looked set for victory when substitute Maxym Feschuk gave them a 64th-minute lead just seven minutes after taking the field. Albania for their part had only one effort of note on goal, Hamdi Salihi going close with a free-kick.

Scramble
However, that all changed on 84 minutes, when Ukraine goalkeeper Yevgen Shyryayev could only divert a difficult cross on to the woodwork and in the ensuing scramble, Mile levelled the scores. The result keeps Albania in touch with the play-off positions in fifth place.

Three points adrift
Denmark's 1-0 win in Greece today means that Ukraine are now three points behind the leaders, whom they face in Kiev on 29 March. Albania travel to Turkey four days earlier before visiting Greece.
