Diarra signs Liverpool deal

Liverpool FC have signed French midfield player Alou Diarra from FC Bayern München.

Liverpool FC have signed French midfield player Alou Diarra on a free transfer from FC Bayern München, the English FA Premiership club said on Tuesday.

Five-year contract
Diarra, 21, is a former France under-20 international and arrived at Bayern two years ago. He has signed a five-year deal and could be joined at Anfield by compatriot Bruno Cheyrou in the next few days, according to a report on the club's website.

Senegalese duo
Liverpool are also waiting to confirm the captures of Senegal's FIFA World Cup pair Salif Diao and El Hadji Diouf before the start of the new English season.
