FC Lokomotivi Tbilisi 1-4 FC København (København win 7-2 on aggregate)
København eased through to the first round of the UEFA Cup after another assured performance against their Georgian opponents.

Bright start
The Danish side won 3-1 at home in the first leg but went one better on their travels, silencing the home crowd in Tbilisi. However, Lokomotiv were off to a bright start, grabbing an early lead at the Lokomotiv stadium. The impressive Zaza Janashia, who also scored in the first leg, stunned Magnus Kihlstedt in the København goal with a scissor kick on nine minutes.

Twice denied
The goal only served to rally København though and they immediately went on the attack. Peter Nielsen and Sibusiso Zuma each hit the post before the latter finally scored the equaliser, the South African forward finding the net with a well-placed shot on 24 minutes.

Over the bar
It was an open game, and Lokomotiv also wasted several chances at the other end. The biggest culprit was Davit Siradze, who blasted over the bar after he was put through on the København goal.

Pettersson double
Lokomotiv were finally finished off by København's substitute Jorgen Pettersson, who scored twice after replacing Zuma. The striker, newly arrived from 1. FC Kaiserslautern, scored in the 68th and 72nd minutes. Another substitute, Todi Jonsson, then stole the ball from Lasha Salukvadze, advanced and fired from an acute angle to seal the emphatic qualifying round victory.
