ŠKM Púchov 2-0 FK Atyrau (Púchov win 2-0 on aggregate)
Slovakian side ŠKM Púchov had to work hard to secure a place in the UEFA Cup first round but finally achieved it after two second-half goals in the second leg of their qualifying round tie against FK Atyrau.

Foundations laid
Púchov had laid their foundations for their victory a fortnight ago with a goalless away draw against the European newcomers from Kazakhstan. Atyrau kept Púchov at bay for the first 45 but it was a different story in the second half.

Breska opener
Soon after the restart Mario Breska collected Juraj Skripec's pass from the right before scoring from ten metres. Atyrau then came close to drawing level with 12 minutes remaining but Redzepmurat Agabajev saw his fine effort thwarted by goalkeeper Tomas Bernady.

Win sealed
That was too be as good as it got for Atyrau and Púchov wrapped up the win in the dying seconds. Zdeno Strba converted Jozef Bugala's free-kick from close range to delight the home support.
