Boruc in big time at Celtic

Celtic FC have made Legia Warszawa goalkeeper Artur Boruc their second Polish acquisition of the summer.

Keen to sign
Boruc will move to the Scottish runners-up on a 12-month loan from UEFA Cup challengers Legia Warszawa, with Celtic securing the option to sign him permanently. Manager Gordon Strachan said: "What we are getting is a player who is hungry. He is a lad who was desperate to get here and he speaks good English."

Polish influence
The 25-year-old, who is second-choice for his country behind Jerzy Dudek, will join compatriot Maciej Zurawski at Celtic after the striker's arrival last week. The Glasgow club, who enter the UEFA Champions League in the second qualifying round, had tried to bring former Heart of Midlothian FC keeper Niemi back to Scotland from Southampton FC but a deal could not be reached.
