Deadline deal
Virgo, who can play at right-back or centre-back, has joined the Scottish Cup winners for around €2.2m and has signed a four-year contract ahead of Thursday night's UEFA Champions League registration deadline for the second qualifying round. Virgo made 36 league appearances for English second-tier side Brighton last season, scoring eight goals. His form earned him a call-up for Scotland's Future squad match against Austria in April.
Fifth purchase
The 22-year-old becomes Celtic manager Gordon Strachan's fifth summer signing after Arsenal FC forward Jérémie Aliadière, who has arrived on loan, Guinea defender Mohamed Camara from Burnley FC, Polish international Maciej Zurawski from Wisla Kraków, and compatriot goalkeeper Artur Boruc from Legia Warszawa.
