Dinamo destroy Levadia dreams

FC Dinamo Tbilisi 2-0 FC Levadia Tallinn (agg: 2-1) Levan Melkadze and Sergi Orbeladze take the hosts through.

Melkadze levels
The Estonian champions held a 1-0 advantage going into tonight's return, Konstantin Nahk's penalty having proved decisive last week on their competition debut. But the greater experience of the one-time UEFA Cup Winners' Cup winners was always a danger for the visitors, and sure enough the Georgian title-holders levelled the aggregate score just before half-time through Levan Melkadze.

Orbeladze winner
Five minutes into the second half Sergi Orbeladze put Dinamo 2-0 up on the night and in the lead for the first time in the tie. Despite midfielder David Odikadze being booked for the second time in 60 seconds and dismissed in the 76th minute and dismissed, the home team held on to earn a match-up with Brøndby IF, their only previous meeting with Danish opposition having come in the 1977/78 UEFA Cup against Kjøbenhavns BK - Dinamo winning 6-2 on aggregate. Next week's first leg, for which Odikadze is suspended, will be in Georgia, with the return on 2/3 August.
