Iachtchouk faces injury lay-off

The RSC Anderlecht forward Oleg Iachtchouk will be sidelined for five weeks following surgery for knee trouble.

RSC Anderlecht forward Oleg Iachtchouk faces five weeks on the sidelines following surgery on ligaments in his left knee.

Champions League absence
The 27-year-old will miss Anderlecht's UEFA Champions League second qualifying round matches against PFC Neftchi, and would be very doubtful for the third round if the Belgians progress.

Mitu suspension
Anderlecht will also be without new signing, 28-year-old goalscoring midfielder Marius Mitu, who serves a suspension picked up two years ago. Mitu was sent off playing for K. Lierse SK against SC Heerenveen in the UEFA Intertoto Cup third round on 26 July 2003, and must sit out three European fixtures.

Jestrovic pressure
With highly-rated Ivory Coast striker Aruna Dindane sold to RC Lens in France, much expectation will be placed on Anderlecht's 2004/05 top scorer Nenad Jestrovic to deliver against Neftchi.
