Successful sides await next step

The 25 triumphant teams from Thursday are among the 62 clubs lining up for the second qualifying round draw.

The UEFA Cup first round is in sight with 62 teams set to be included in Friday's second qualifying round draw.

Famous name
Twenty-five clubs made it through after the conclusion of the first qualifying round on Thursday, including Bundesliga side 1. FSV Mainz 05, who like Viking FK and Esbjerg fB received Fair Play entry. Along with the first Faroe Islands team to win a tie in the competition, B36 Tórshavn, they join the 37 clubs starting at this stage for the draw at 14.00CET at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. Among the newcomers will be former European champions FK Crvena Zvezda. The two-legged ties will be played on 11 and 25 August.

Seeds separate
The participating sides have been divided into three sub-divisions - Southern-Mediterranean, Central-East and Northern - for the purposes of the draw. Within each pool, there will be two groups, each containing an equal number of seeded and unseeded clubs. Teams from the same association cannot meet.

Future path
The 31 second qualifying round survivors will advance to the first round proper, where 49 other sides will lie in wait, including holders PFC CSKA Moskva, the 16 clubs eliminated in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League and the three UEFA Intertoto Cup winners. The first-round victors will enter the UEFA Cup group stage.
