Anderlecht advance despite defeat

PFC Neftchi 1-0 RSC Anderlecht (agg: 1-5) Vadim Boret's penalty gives departing Neftchi a consolation win.

PFC Neftchi exited the UEFA Champions League on a high, as Vadim Boret's penalty gave them a second qualifying round second-leg victory against RSC Anderlecht.

Cordas goal
Frank Vercauteren's side had won 5-0 in Belgium last week, meaning the Azerbaijani champions had little chance of progress tonight. But they were awarded a penalty on five minutes and the Croatian midfielder converted, ensuring a highly creditable home result.

Slavia tie
Anderlecht now advance to play SK Slavia Praha in the third qualifying round, starting at home next week as they continue their 24th European Champion Clubs' Cup campaign.
