Cahill in for the long haul

Australian midfielder Tim Cahill said it was "another dream come true" to extend his contract with Everton FC.

Everton FC have received a boost ahead of their UEFA Champions League third qualifying round tie with Villarreal CF after midfielder Tim Cahill penned a new five-year contract.

Leading scorer
The Australian international has been in fine form since joining David Moyes's side from championship outfit Millwall FC a year ago. Cahill helped Everton to a surprising fourth-placed finish last season with eleven goals in 33 Premiership games, making him the club's leading scorer.

Cahill delight
"It is done now and I am happy," said the 25-year-old. "All I can say is it is another dream come true, another five years at the club I love and at the one that gave me my chance." Everton welcome Villarreal to Goodison Park for the first leg tomorrow, with the return leg at El Madrigal on 24 August.
