Stevanovič double rescues Slovenia

Slovenia 2-2 Norway The proverbial game of two halves saw a player from each side scoring twice.

Norway surrendered a two-goal lead at Sportni Park as Slovenia earned a 2-2 draw to keep alive their hopes of sealing a place in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship play-offs.

Rivals slip
With Belarus having surprisingly lost to Moldova earlier in the day, a win for either side would have seen them claim a significant edge in the play-off stakes going into the final three games of the Group 5 campaign.

Sokolowski double
The visitors looked to be doing just that thanks to two first-half goals from Tomasz Sokolowski, the striker finding the net in the 12th and 34th minutes. With the Scandinavians heading towards a five-point advantage in the fight for second place, the game changed dramatically as Dalibor Stevanovič sparked a Slovenian revival.

Super Stevanovič
The midfielder reduced Norway's lead five minutes after the restart before missing an 86th-minute penalty. However, Stevanovič was not to be denied as he headed an equaliser with two minutes remaining. Norway stay second with eleven points from seven games, while Slovenia move level with Belarus two points further back. Italy top the pool.
