Hamburger SV will be without defender Guy Demel for up to four weeks after he picked up a knee injury.

Ligament damage
The 24-year-old suffered ligament damage in last night's 1-0 win at PFC CSKA Sofia on the opening night of the UEFA Cup group stage. The injury will definitely keep him out of the Matchday 2 home fixture against Viking FK on 3 November. However, it will have little bearing on the Bundesliga as Demel is suspended for the next four matches after a post-match incident in the 1-0 defeat by VfL Wolfsburg last Saturday.
