FC Rapid Bucuresti will miss several key midfield players against SBV Vitesse on Thursday.

FC Rapid Bucuresti have lost midfield players Constantin Schumacher and Manuel Godfroid to injury ahead of the return leg of their UEFA Cup first-round tie against SBV Vitesse.

On the sidelines
Rapid will be without captain Schumacher for a month with a ruptured muscle while team-mate Godfroid faces a six-week lay-off. Neither is likely to be back in time for the UEFA Cup second round should Rapid improve on their 1-1 draw in Arnhem in Thursday's second leg.

Sabau struggle
Coach Mircea Rednic could also be missing Ioan-Ovidiu Sabau against Vitesse, as the veteran continues to struggle with a leg injury. Rapid lead Romania's first division after a 3-1 derby win against FC Dinamo Bucuresti last Saturday.
