Dutch delight for Emanuelson

AFC Ajax left-back Urby Emanuelson has been called up to the Netherlands squad for the first time to play Italy at the Amsterdam ArenA on 12 November.

Emanuelson impresses
The 19-year-old, who has established himself in the Ajax side this season and appeared in all four of their UEFA Champions League matches, has worked his way through the Netherlands youth set-up, making his Under-21 debut last summer. Feyenoord striker Romeo Castelen and AZ Alkmaar defender Joris Mathijsen are recalled after a six-month absence and there are also places for Phillip Cocu, Jan Kromkamp and André Ooijer. But Edgar Davids, Tim de Cler, Barry Opdam and Mark van Bommel are omitted.
