Article body
FC Bayern München will be without Owen Hargreaves for Wednesday's crucial UEFA Champions League Group G match away to AC Milan.
Thigh trouble
The England midfield player was ruled out of the San Siro fixture because of a stiff thigh muscle and is also likely to miss next week's Matchday Five game against RC Deportivo La Coruña. Hargreaves, who was hurt in Saturday's 1-0 win over FC Hansa Rostock, has featured in all three of Bayern's Champions League outings this season.
Exit threat
Four-times European champions Bayern, who won the Champions League in 2001, will be eliminated tomorrow night if they lose and Deportivo beat RC Lens. The German club lie in third place in the section with just one point, eight behind leaders Milan. Second-placed Deportivo have six points.
Positive news
There has been some positive news for coach Ottmar Hitzfield with Bosnia-Herzegovnian midfield player Hasan Salihamidzic and French wing-back Willy Sagnol fit to play after minor injuries. Bayern end their first group stage campaign by welcoming Lens to the Olympiastadion on 13 November.
