Giannichedda blow for Lazio

Injury will deprive S.S. Lazio of Giuliano Giannichedda for the UEFA Cup matches against FK Crvena Zvezda.

S.S. Lazio midfield player Giuliano Giannichedda will miss the UEFA Cup second-round matches against Yugoslavian side FK Crvena Zvezda because of injury.

Five week absence
The 28-year-old will be sidelined for around five weeks after he damaged his right thigh in training yesterday - ruling him out of tomorrow's first leg at the Olimpico and the return leg in Belgrade on 14 November.

Mancini blow
Former Udinese Calcio player Giannichedda has been a regular in Roberto Mancini's side this season. His absence will be a blow to the coach who does, however, recover Argentinian and Italian internationals Diego Simeone and Fabio Liverani. Both are back from injury to face Crvena Zvezda.
