Club Brugge KV forward Bengt Sæternes is facing a month on the sidelines with a calf injury.
The 27-year-old had only returned to action on 23 October after being troubled by calf trouble at the start of the season. Sæternes, who joined the Belgian club from FK Bodø/Glimt in August, will undergo surgery on the troublesome injury tonight.
Brugge play their final UEFA Champions League first group stage match against FC Lokomotiv Moskva in Russia next week. A win in the Group H encounter will take the club through along with FC Barcelona, who have already secured first place.
Goal against Galatasaray
Norwegian international Sæternes will be much missed, especially as he proved his prowess when scoring in the 3-1 Matchday Four victory against Galatasaray SK, who along with Lokomotiv can still pip Brugge to second spot in Group H.
Meanwhile, Brugge team-mates Marek Spilar (stomach), Sergei Serebrennikov (knee) and Gaetan Englebert (thigh) are all hopeful of being fit for the European encounter on Wednesday week.
