The three Spanish teams left in the UEFA Cup have been handed tough ties in the third round.
Real Betis Balompié have been paired with French high-flyers AJ Auxerre, RC Celta de Vigo take on Scottish champions Celtic FC while Málaga CF have a tie against 2001 UEFA Champions League semi-finalists Leeds United AFC, who won the 1971 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup.
Málaga were one of three teams to qualify for the UEFA Cup via the UEFA Intertoto Cup with the other two winners, Fulham FC and VfB Stuttgart also still involved. Fulham play Hertha BSC Berlin while Stuttgart meet Club Brugge KV.
There are three previous winners of the competition in the third round. FC Schalke 04, who lifted the trophy in 1997, have been drawn against Wisla Kraków, who eliminated Parma AC in the second round, Liverpool FC, three-time winners, are up against Dutch club SBV Vitesse while Belgian side RSC Anderlecht, the 1993 winners, will meet FC Girondins de Bordeaux.
Other intriguing ties include S.S. Lazio against SK Sturm Graz, Besiktas JK taking on FC Dynamo Kyiv, Paris Saint-Germain FC meeting Boavista FC and FC Porto against FC Lens.
Champions League clubs join
In all 24 teams qualified from the second round, while eight have joined from the UEFA Champions League. The third round first-leg matches will be played on 28 November, with the second legs on 12 December.
