RC Lens midfield player Cyril Rool will miss the UEFA Cup third-round match with FC Porto through injury.

RC Lens midfield player Cyril Rool will miss the UEFA Cup third-round match with Portuguese First Division FC Porto after being ruled out for at least a month with a knee injury.

Scan results
A scan revealed that the 27-year-old, who limped off during the second half of the French club's 3-3 UEFA Champions League draw with FC Bayern München on Wednesday, has suffered serious damage to his kneecap and needs four weeks recuperation.

Better than Bayern
Lens collected a UEFA Cup spot after finishing in third place in Champions League Group G, four points clear of Bayern, but behind RC Deportivo La Coruña and leaders AC Milan. Porto progressed to the third round following aggregate victories over KP Polonia Warszawa and FK Austria Wien.
