The UEFA Stadia Committee has continued its trip to Portugal to inspect the progress of the ten stadiums which will host UEFA EURO 2004™ matches with visits to Aveiro, Coimbra, Leiria and the Bessa stadium in Porto.

'Significant changes'
Committee chairman Ernie Walker gave his verdict on how each stadium was progressing. Speaking in Leiria, he said: "Today, we saw significant changes and important improvements in this new stadium."

'Advanced project'
He added: "Coimbra is one of the most advanced projects. From the beginning this stadium did not give us any worries and we think the venue will be ready before the deadline." Finally, at at the Bessa stadium, he said: "It is not ready yet but everything seems ok."
