Allbäck ready for 'biggest game'

FC København striker Marcus Allbäck is looking forward to the biggest game of his club career as the Danish champions prepare to receive Group F leaders Manchester United FC at the Parken Stadium.

'Massive game'
The 33-year-old has experienced two FIFA World Cup finals with his native Sweden in 2002 and 2006, but in a club career that has taken him to Italy, the Netherlands, England and Germany he claims nothing compares with tonight's encounter with the English leaders. "It's up there with the best and certainly in terms of club football this is the biggest one," Allback told uefa.com. "This game is massive for the country, for the club, the fans and the players. It's one we have all been looking forward to since the draw was made."

Composure required
Having lost 3-0 to United a fortnight ago, Allbäck knows his side have to get some kind of result to maintain their slender hopes of progressing to the knockout stages or more realistically a UEFA Cup slot, but the striker saw enough in København's performance at Old Trafford to suggest they can take something from tonight's game and score the first goal of their campaign. "The game against United was definitely our best offensive performance so far,” he said. "The only thing that was missing was the finishing touch. We showed especially in the first half that we can play some decent football and hopefully we can do that for the whole 90 minutes this time."

Offensive approach
Without throwing caution to the wind completely, Allbäck feels his team-mates have to take a bolder approach if they are to collect the first three points of their campaign. "If you look at our two first games at home against [SL] Benfica and away to Celtic [FC], we were thinking too much about keeping the point we had at the start of the game and as a result we didn't have many scoring opportunities," said Allback. "Of course, it will be important not to concede an early goal, but equally we have to try and give United problems at the other end.

Enjoyment
"It's also important that all our players, especially the young ones, enjoy the occasion and don't get too nervous. The younger lads did well at Old Trafford, so hopefully they can do just as well in front of their own fans. Games like this don't come along too often and we have to make the most of it."
