Ignashevich causes CSKA concern

PFC CSKA Moskva captain Sergei Ignashevich has taken a knock to his knee and faces a race to be fit for the UEFA Champions League visit of FC Porto on 21 November.

Untimely collision
The 27-year-old centre-back, who has played every minute of the Russian champions' Group G campaign, will be eager to be involved in the Matchday 5 encounter as a CSKA victory in Moscow would take them into the knockout stages for the first time. Ignashevich was hurt in a collision with Andrei Arshavin during Sunday's 1-0 home win against FC Zenit St. Petersburg which kept CSKA four points clear at the top of the Premier-Liga with three games to play.

Scan required
The Russian international has had a scan which revealed no serious injury, despite the initial fears of coach Valeri Gazzaev, although he has damaged the joint. The problem will sideline him for Wednesday's trip to FC Krylya Sovetov Samara, a fixture which could see CSKA crowned champions should FC Spartak Moskva lose their match at FC Saturn Moskovskaya Oblast. Ignashevich is also rated doubtful for Russia's UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifier in F.Y.R. Macedonia on 15 November.
