Barnetta doubt for Leverkusen

Bayer 04 Leverkusen midfielder Tranquillo Barnetta is rated doubtful for the Group B trip to FC Dinamo 1948 Bucuresti after suffering an ankle injury.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen midfielder Tranquillo Barnetta is rated doubtful for next Wednesday's UEFA Cup Group B encounter with FC Dinamo 1948 Bucuresti after suffering an ankle injury in the defeat by Tottenham Hotspur FC.

Costly defeat
The 21-year-old Swiss international sustained heavy bruising to his right ankle during Thursday's reverse, which has left the German club with one point from two Group B matches going into the game in Bucharest. Following a scan today, Barnetta will sit out Sunday's Bundesliga visit of FC Energie Cottbus, with a question mark also against his availability for the trip to Dinamo. Leverkusen lie fourth in their five-team UEFA Cup group, and with one home fixture to come against Beşiktaş JK on 14 December, they will want to take points from Romania.
