The UEFA Appeals Body has confirmed a three-match ban handed to Valencia CF midfield player Miguel Angulo after his dismissal in a recent UEFA Champions League match against Arsenal FC.
Highbury dismissal
Angulo was dismissed during the Champions League encounter between Arsenal and Valencia at Highbury on 10 December, which ended in a goalless draw.
Off-the-ball incident
He was given a red card following an incident off the ball, which was spotted by Danish referee Kim Milton Nielsen. UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Committee subsequently banned Angulo for three UEFA competition matches, and the Appeals Body upheld the initial decision at its meeting in Nyon today.
