Celtic snare Perrier Doumbé

Celtic FC have completed the signing of Jean-Joël Perrier Doumbé with the Cameroon defender excited about the club's "great history and fantastic support".

Further option
The 28-year-old French-born full-back has joined on loan until the end of the season, with Celtic having the option of a further two years if he impresses. Perrier Doumbé said: "I am delighted to be joining Celtic. I know that they are a massive club with a great history and fantastic support."

Milan meeting
Perrier Doumbé has represented Cameroon in two FIFA World Cup finals and would be eligible, if registered, to play in Celtic's UEFA Champions League first knockout round tie against AC Milan. He moved to Rennes from AJ Auxerre in 2004 but fell out of favour following the arrival of former Chelsea FC defender Mario Melchiot. Celtic manager Gordon Strachan said: "It's great to be able to add a player like Jean-Joël to the squad. His enthusiasm and ability have impressed everyone."
