FC Paços de Ferreira defender Antunes has received his first call-up to the Portugal Under-21 squad as they prepare to host the VII Torneio Internacional Vale do Tejo next week.
Antunes, a mainstay of the U20 team, has been rewarded for a series of consistent performances at club and international level, being seen as a potential solution for what has become a problem position for the U21 side. The left-back, 19, will hope to make his debut under coach José Couceiro against Estonia in Portugal's first game of the four-team tournament on 6 February. The Portuguese will then face either the Czech Republic or Slovenia in a second match two days later.
