No Neuendorf for Hertha

Hertha BSC Berlin will be missing Andreas Neuendorf for the UEFA Cup fourth round following a groin operation.

Hertha BSC Berlin will take on Portuguese side Boavista FC in the fourth round of the UEFA Cup without the injured Andreas Neuendorf.

Imminent operation
The flame-haired midfield player, who goes by the nickname 'Zecke', is to have an operation on his groin tomorrow which will keep him out of the first leg at the Olympiastadion on 20 February and the following week's return in Porto.

UEFA ban
Neuendorf's UEFA Cup campaign got off to an inauspicious start when he was sent off for headbutting an opponent in the first-round victory against Aberdeen FC, an act which earned him a three-match UEFA ban.

London stalemate
The 27-year-old missed both legs of the second-round victory against APOEL Nicosia FC and returned for the second leg of Hertha's tie against Fulham FC, helping his side secure a 0-0 draw in London which sealed a 2-1 aggregate victory.
