Surgery ends Park's season

Manchester United FC midfielder Ji-Sung Park will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on a knee injury, manager Sir Alex Ferguson revealed today.

Manchester United FC midfielder Ji-Sung Park will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on a knee injury.

Season over
The South Korean international, 26, has not featured since the 4-1 league win against Blackburn Rovers FC at the end of March, and it has been decided an operation is needed to rectify the problem. "We couldn't get to the bottom of it and it does put an end to his season," said United manager Sir Alex Ferguson. "There was no improvement in his knee injury. We have sent him to specialists and what we have to do is get him to the best."

Injury reprieve
United face Everton FC tomorrow looking to stretch their lead at the top of the Premiership before flying to Milan for Wednesday's UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg against AC Milan. Striker Louis Saha could be on the bench at Goodison Park after recovering from a hamstring injury, and though centre-back Rio Ferdinand will miss the trip to Everton with a groin problem, he could be fit to face Milan as United look to defend their 3-2 lead. United may also welcome back Nemanja Vidić next week depending on the results of a scan on Monday on his broken collarbone although Gary Neville will definitely not be fit as he recovers from an ankle injury.
