Elttør back in Faroe Islands fold

Hjalgrím Elttør has been recalled to the Faroe Islands squad for the UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifying fixtures against Italy and Scotland in Group B.

Career revived
The midfielder has been reinvigorated by a move to NSÍ Runavík and is included in Jógvan Martin Olsen's squad for the first time this year. "Hjalgrím didn't play well last season," said the coach. "We told him the change to NSÍ wouldn't automatically earn him a recall. He was told to prove he could raise his game and I'm happy to see he has done just that." The Faroe Islands, bottom of Group B having lost their first six fixtures, are deprived of defender Fródi Benjaminsen through suspension for the game against the world champions although Olsen is able to welcome back Jón Rói Jacobsen and Súni Olsen after injury.
