Boyd could miss Rangers' Zeta trip

Rangers FC could be without Kris Boyd for their UEFA Champions League qualifier against FK Zeta in Montenegro after the Scotland striker injured an ankle.

Rangers FC could be without Kris Boyd for next week's UEFA Champions League qualifier in Montenegro after the Scotland striker injured his left ankle today.

Zeta trip
Boyd twisted his ankle in the 49th minute of Rangers' 3-0 win at Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC on the opening day of the Scottish season. The 23-year-old is now rated doubtful for Tuesday's second qualifying round tie away to FK Zeta, with Rangers leading 2-0 from the first leg in Glasgow.

'Wait and see'
Rangers manager Walter Smith said: "He is obviously a doubt for the next game. He went over on his ankle and eventually had to come off. We hope he responds to treatment but we just have to wait and see." Boyd scored 20 goals in 25 Premier League starts last term. Today Barry Ferguson, with two strikes, and Nacho Novo were on target in Inverness.
