Rosenborg on course for last 32

Rosenborg BK coach Knut Tørum reflected on "a good day at the office" after a 3-0 win at Tampere United signalled a near-certain return to the group stage.

Tørum confident
Rosenborg will defend a sizeable lead on home soil after Yssouf Koné scored twice following Miika Koppinen's opening goal and the Norwegian champions now look poised to return to the group stage for the eleventh time in 13 seasons. "We have only played half of this tie, but it looks good," said Tørum. "The boys had a good day at the office and showed commitment and class during the whole game. If we play to our normal standard, we should beat Tampere at home as well."

Chelsea dream
Striker Koné is already thinking about the group stage and has made no secret about the side he would most like to face if Rosenborg, as expected, win through to the last 32. "I hope we get Chelsea [FC]," said the Ivory Coast striker. "I would like to play against my compatriot Didier Drogba. We always speak when we meet."

Brave display
Despite the defeat, Tampere coach Ari Hjelm insisted the match was a lot closer than the scoreline suggests. "We weren't that much behind in the play," he said. "The first goal was an easy one and the second coming right afterwards certainly didn't help much. But I think in the second half we played bravely and were really going for goal. We did our best, but Rosenborg were better. We are not going to give up, though."
