Injury concerns for Glasgow rivals

Celtic FC striker Kenny Miller has been ruled out of Wednesday's UEFA Champions League third round qualifying round tie against FC Spartak Moskva with a hamstring injury while Rangers FC forward Daniel Cousin is also a doubt for Tuesday's trip to FK Crvena Zvezda.

The 27-year-old Miller missed yesterday's 5-0 defeat of Heart of Midlothian FC after aggravating the injury playing for Scotland in their 1-0 friendly international win against South Africa on Wednesday. Miller now faces a number of weeks on the sidelines and could also be a doubt for Scotland's UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifying double-header against Lithuania and France on 8 and 12 September. "Kenny will be out for a wee while with his hamstring, certainly for Wednesday," admitted Celtic manager Gordon Strachan, whose team are level with Spartak at 1-1 ahead of their home leg.

Cousin doubt
Meanwhile, Cousin limped out of Saturday's 2-1 victory against Kilmarnock FC with a calf strain and will struggle to return for when Rangers defend a 1-0 lead against Crvena Zvezda in Belgrade. "Daniel took a kick in the calf and there’s quite a bit of swelling," said Rangers manager Walter Smith. "He's a doubt for Tuesday night but we will know better in 24 hours."
