The Norwegian champions SK Brann will lose their captain Martin Andresen on a free transfer at the end of the year. "After three fantastic years at Brann, I have decided that I want to seek a new challenge," said the midfielder.

New contracts
The 30-year-old, who is not expected to play in any of the club's three remaining UEFA Cup Group D matches, added: "I came here to win the league with Brann, and I'm very happy that I achieved that goal." His new club is not yet known. There was some cheer for coach Mons Ivar Mjelde today, though, as defenders Olafur Örn Bjarnason and Cato Guntveit penned new contracts until 2009 and 2010 respectively. Brann travel to Stade Rennais FC on Thursday having lost their opening match in the section 1-0 at home to Hamburger SV.
