Austria mourns goalkeeper Schmied

Former Austria international goalkeeper Kurt Schmied has died at the age of 82 in Vienna after a long illness. Schmied started his career at Wiener SC, moving on to First Vienna FC in 1952 and winning his only league title three years later. He earned 38 caps for Austria, and represented his country at the 1954 and 1958 FIFA World Cup finals.
