Arsenal suffer Eboué injury blow

Arsenal FC could be without defender Emmanuel Eboué for a number of weeks after it was revealed the Ivorian had sustained knee ligament damage.

Arsenal FC could be without defender Emmanuel Eboué for a number of weeks after it was revealed the Ivorian had sustained knee ligament damage during his side's 1-0 Premier League victory against Chelsea FC.

Ligament injury
The 24-year-old, who has made 12 league appearances for Arsenal this season, was forced off 69 minutes into the contest at the Arsenal Stadium after a collision with Joe Cole. Afterwards manager Arsène Wenger confirmed the worst, saying: "It's a medial ligament injury. We will see in the next 48 hours but it looks as if he will be out for a while." The news means that he will almost certainly miss the League Cup quarter-final against Blackburn Rovers FC on Tuesday and will be a serious doubt for the north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur FC on Saturday.
