Juventus midfielder Sergio Almirón has joined AS Monaco FC on loan until the end of the season. The 27-year-old Argentinian, son of 1986 FIFA World Cup-winner Sergio Omar Almirón, featured nine times in Serie A after joining Juve from Empoli FC last summer. Almirón, who started his career at CA Newell's Old Boys and has also played for Udinese Calcio and Hellas-Verona FC, joins a Monaco side that climbed to fifth in Ligue 1 after beating FC Sochaux-Montbéliard on Wednesday.
