Competition & Brand Manual
Sunday 1 June 2008Three seasons after its introduction, the UEFA Women's Cup Club Manual has been replaced for 2008/09 by a new-look Competition & Brand Manual giving even more importance to the competition branding. Previously branding was only one chapter of the Club Manual; now an entire section (Part II: Brand Manual) is dedicated to branding and provides participating clubs with artwork templates as well as with broadcast and digital support.
The manual is designed to help clubs:
• organise high-level mini-tournaments (qualifying rounds)
• organise high-level home matches (knockout rounds)
• provide the visiting teams, referees and UEFA representatives with the highest possible level of service so that they can fully concentrate on their matches and duties
• provide the participating teams with the best possible conditions to ensure they can play high-quality football
• provide modern and adequate infrastructure that meet the expectation of the players
• ensure that the same level of organisation can be found throughout Europe
• promote the matches and, consequently, realise maximum stadium attendances and media coverage
• realise their commercial potential
• ensure a consistent application across all visual and sound media so that football fans recognise the UEFA Women's Cup message in the written press, on television and in the stadiums where the matches are played.
• raise the competition profile and impact
UEFA Competition Manager Women's Football, Anne Vonnez-King said: "Part I: Competition Manual is intended as a tool to assist clubs hosting matches in the competition. As well as general organisation guidelines, the Manual contains a chapter on promotion and marketing. We hope that this manual will become an indispensable reference document helping guide clubs in the organisation of high-level competition matches.
"In addition, as part of the comprehensive update this season, Part II: Brand Manual aims to provide the clubs with a means of reinforcing the UEFA Women's Cup logo and visual identity, together with the clubs' visibility, in a meaningful way."
