Olisadebe out of Poland squad

Emmanuel Olisadebe has not been included in the Poland squad for games with Kazakhstan and Sweden.

Poland coach Pawel Janas has announced his squad for the friendly international against Kazakhstan and the UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifying game in Sweden.

Olisadebe absence
The biggest surprise is the absence of Poland's Nigerian-born striker Emmanuel Olisadebe, who informed Janas that he has a knee injury and will be out of action for at least three months.  "I'm very sad," said the Poland coach. "It's a huge disappointment for me."

Zurawski missing
The squad includes seven Wisla Kraków players, but there is no space for Maciej Zurawski, the Wisla forward who has scored 20 goals this season. The only new name in the 23-man squad is that of Radoslaw Sobolewski, KS Groclin Dyskobolia Grodzisk Wielkopolski's 27-year-old defensive midfield player.

Important games
Poland play Kazakhstan in Poznan's PKP Lech stadium on 6 June, before traveling to Solna to face Sweden five days later. Poland lie second in Group 4 with their four games so far having brought seven points, three fewer than section leaders Latvia.
