Nine rested after Old Trafford exertions

Italy coach Giovanni Trapattoni has named a weakened 20-man squad for Tuesday's friendly international against Northern Ireland.

Nine players who started last Wednesday's UEFA Champions League final will not play in the Campobasso fixture, a warm-up for the 11 June UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifier against Finland in Helsinki.

Five from Juve
Gianluigi Buffon, Gianluca Zambrotta, Alessio Tacchinardi, Mauro Camoranesi and Alessandro Del Piero are the missing Juventus FC quintet, while AC Milan's Alessandro Nesta, Gennaro Gattuso, Andrea Pirlo and Filippo Inzaghi are also left out.

However, two players who came on at Old Trafford - Massimo Ambrosini and Alessandro Birindelli - are included along with unused substitutes Christian Abbiati and Marco Di Vaio. AS Roma duo Christian Panucci and Francesco Totti are rested after playing in the second leg of the Italian Cup final on Saturday, a 6-2 aggregate win for Milan following a 2-2 San Siro draw. Trapattoni will name his squad for Finland on Wednesday.
