Past glories
The 31-year-old, who has scored 51 goals in 99 games for Denmark, has returned to the De Kuip Stadium as the Dutch Cup winners look ahead to their forthcoming UEFA Cup campaign, kicking off in the first round in September, having finished a disappointing sixth in the league last season. Tomasson joined Feyenoord from Newcastle United FC in 1998 and won the Dutch title in his first season, and also scored the decisive goal as they beat BV Borussia Dortmund 3-2 in the 2001/02 UEFA Cup final. He played over 160 games in all competitions for the club, scoring 71 goals, before moving on to AC Milan in 2002. He left Milan for VfB Stuttgart in 2005 and then joined Villarreal last summer, registering seven times in 36 league games.
