The UEFA Training Ground examines how referees prepare mentally for a game.

UEFA sports psychologist Mattia Piffaretti explains the mental side of refereeing, outlining the personal goals they should set themselves, the mental skills they need on the pitch, the pressure they have to deal with in a big match situation, how they wind down after a game and how they can learn from mistakes.
