Spain restricted to point in Finland

Finland's Lukas Hradecky put on a goalkeeper masterclass as dominant Spain endured a frustrating evening in Kotka.

The visitors knew they would not have things their own way from the moment Joni Kauko collected Jonne Hjelm's pass and broke the deadlock on six minutes. From then on it was more or less all Spain, and they regained parity just after the half-hour mark when Bojan Krkić fired in from the penalty spot after being brought down by Juhani Ojala. Despite a great deal of endeavour, Hradecky ensured that was as good as it got.

Spain's hopes of finishing as one of the best four runners-up and confirming a UEFA European Under-21 Championship play-off place now rest on them getting positive results next month against Group 4 winners the Netherlands and third-placed Poland. Should they fail, Luis Milla's side may come to rue this night, as they failed to capitalise on complete dominance after half-time, unable to break down Hradecky's staunch resistance.
