• The tall midfielder captained Finland in qualifying, finishing as three-goal top scorer.

• In 2003, after participating at the U-17 World Cup, he moved to Southampton FC's academy, where he played alongside Theo Walcott. Joined Swedish club Halmstad in 2007.

• Made his debut for the senior national team in February 2009 against Japan.
