Van Gaal lures Pranjić to Bayern

Danijel Pranjić has joined UEFA Champions League group stage contenders FC Bayern München, with Dutch coach Louis van Gaal snaring the midfielder from Eredivisie side SC Heerenveen.

Croatian international Danijel Pranjić has joined UEFA Champions League group stage contenders FC Bayern München, with Dutch coach Louis van Gaal snaring the 27-year-old midfielder from Eredivisie side SC Heerenveen.

'Wish-list'
The clubs have not disclosed a transfer fee for the left-sided player, but the chairman of the Bayern board Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: "We are really happy about having Danijel. He can play in a lot of positions and was one of the top players on Louis van Gaal's wish-list." The 22-times capped international scored 32 goals in 129 league games for Heerenveen in four seasons after joining from NK Dinamo Zagreb. He was part of Heerenveen's Dutch Cup-winning team of 2009. He started his career at NK Osijek.
